The McIntire Department of Music is pleased to present the 2017-2018 University of Virginia Chamber Music Series. This annual series, which presents innovative performances by the University of Virginia's world-class faculty and celebrated guest artists, is comprised of six professional performances for the University and the central Virginia community. These intimate afternoon concerts are programmed to offer both new and traditional works that will delight audiences of all musical tastes.

On Sunday, March 18th, 2018, the Albemarle Ensemble will perform in Old Cabell Hall.

The Albemarle Ensemble has been in residence at the University of Virginia since 1987. A wind quintet, the group has performed throughout the Eastern United States, including at Carnegie Hall. The ensemble received a Virginia Arts Grant for educational programs and several other grants for recording and touring projects. The five members of the ensemble serve as Principals of The Charlottesville Symphony at the University of Virginia as well as Faculty Lecturers at the University.
