The Virginia Gentlemen are proud to present their 2024 Family Weekend Concert on Saturday, October 26th at 8:00 PM in Old Cabell Hall!
This concert features an impressive array of vocal music, from modern pop and R&B hits to classic doo-wop! Join the VGs as they continue their 70+ year old tradition of blazers, bowties, and musical excellence.
The Virginia Gentlemen (VGs) are the University of Virginia’s oldest acapella group, founded as an octet of the Glee Club in 1953. Being a VG today involves rehearsing massive repertoire for weekly gigs, putting on two concerts a year, and traveling the world singing! With recent tours in Washington DC, China, Hong Kong, Peru, Southeast Asia, and Spain, and nearly 100 performances each school year, the VGs keep busy! During 2023's 70th anniversary celebration, when they sang with over 80 alumni, including members of The Original Eight VGs, they learned that even though so much has changed at the University and beyond, a VG is in the group for life. The group has been to some amazing places and experienced some incredible things, but, at their core, are a group of folks who love to sing.

Old Cabell Hall is located on the south end of UVA's historic lawn, directly opposite the Rotunda (map). At UVA, parking is available in the C1 lot off McCormick Rd, and the Central Grounds Parking Garage on Emmet St. is walking distance to the hall. Handicap parking is available in the small parking lot adjacent to Bryan Hall.
